Hitting the grond running in 2011

If you know me, you know I love singers. Share in that love by coming out to any (or all) of several shows which feature some of Portlands finest vocalists. I’ll be backing jazz Bre Gregg at the Camellia Lounge alongside guitarist Ben Graves January 6th. Barile Beer and Wine with Matthew Gailey on January 8th, Mya Elaine at the Jade Lounge on January 16th. I’ll take a second trip back to my near-residence at the Camellia Lounge January 19th to join pianist Greg Goebel in accompanying Mitzi Zilka.

Beginning with a special New Year’s Eagle Hour at the White Eagle, the Student Loan will re-visit the greatest hits from 2010’s Bartender Saturday, which will include some of our more unforgettable (or just bizarre) covers from our First Saturday shows. The Student Loan keeps the momentum going with slammin’ double-bills with Lincoln’s Beard (1/7), Four on the Floor (1/13), and Wy’East (1/14).

As if that weren’t enough, The Student Loan will wrap January with a series of performances in Buenos Aires, Argentina. These will include a week of local programming for musicians and students as well as a performance at the renowned Cosquín Folk Festival.
