Returning to the Eagle
August 5th, 2011
No, I haven’t been updating the site. Yes, I’ve still been busy!
After a rather eventful Summer which included several weddings, a Bowling Green, Ohio CD release tour, a memorable weekend at Northwest String Summit, and an appearance at the Five Suns Bluegrass Festival in Moses Lake, the Student Loan will finally return to the White Eagle…August 13th. In the meantime, I’ll be appearing this Saturday, August 6th with the Matthew Gailey Band which also features Neil Mattson (the creative genius behind Trio Flux) and Riley Geare of the Tomorrow People and Bowie tribute project, Queen Bitch. Seriously, how do you turn that down?
I’ll be following that up with an evening appearance at Vie de Boheme with folk/soul songstress Laura Ivancie who never disappoints. With flugelhorn dynamo Max Ribner and drummer Forest Carter keeping us in line, Vie de Boheme is the place to be Saturday night!
Lastly, I’ll be making a throwback appearance of sorts on Thursday, August 11th at Vino Vixens with the Mike Prigodich Trio featuring local breakout jazz fusion composer/keyboardist Mike Prigodich and drumming wizard Reinhardt Melz on drums. It’ll be my first appearance with the group in over a year, but I’m looking forward to shaking off the rust and digging back into Mike’s music.
Stay tuned. I’ll try not to go half a year without updating again. I’ll try…

Gettin’ goofy in San Isidro
March 1st, 2011
While the Cosquin Folk Festival made up the most of The Student Loan‘s January trip to Argentina, we still got to squeeze in a workshop or two. We had the pleasure of sharing our music with an enthusiastic group in San Isidro. The kids were great, and perhaps I planted the seeds for a few future bass players!
